History of Aero® Chocolate

When Rowntree’s® launched its new aerated chocolate in 1935, it changed chocolate forever. Far from the hefty chocolate blocks of the day, Aero® was new and different in flavour and texture, every bold bubble blissfully melting in your mouth. Aero® was more than just a treat – every bar was a whole new chocolate experience!

After Nestlé acquired Rowntree’s® in 1988, Aero® continued to grow. Along the way, it added new tasty Aero® flavours and fun formats while staying true to its original bubbly promise. As Aero® expanded its reach beyond the UK, it became popular in Canada, South Africa and Japan.

Over the years, Aero® has also made uplifting strides towards sustainability. As part of the Nestlé Cocoa Plan, Aero® is committed to using 100% sustainably sourced cocoa and working with farmers to ensure ethical practices in cocoa farming while improving communities. It’s all part of our ongoing effort towards a more sustainable future.
